About Me

Oceanside was created from the belief that grief isn’t something to fix, it’s something to be carried. There are no formulas or timelines here, only steadiness, honesty, and practical tools designed to meet people where they actually are.
I’m Josie Lacey, a certified grief coach and death doula. I offer grief coaching and end-of-life support rooted in steadiness, care, and honest conversation. My work supports people navigating loss, caregiving, and major life transitions, with attention to the emotional, practical, and human realities that often go unspoken.
I believe support should move at your pace. This work is not about fixing grief or rushing decisions, but about creating space to reflect, talk things through, and feel less alone during difficult seasons.
How I Can Help
Care that meets you where you are
Support looks different for everyone. People arrive at grief and end-of-life questions in many ways, after a loss, during caregiving, in moments of uncertainty, or before anything has happened at all.
The areas below reflect the ways I offer grounded, compassionate guidance through grief, caregiving, end-of-life planning, and major life transitions, without pressure or urgency.
End-of-Life Guidance
Support in beginning end-of-life conversations with clarity and care.
Gentle guidance for individuals and families navigating end-of-life conversations, decisions, and care.

Advance Care Planning Support
Practical support for creating plans that reflect your values.
Space to explore wishes and practical considerations ahead of time, at a pace that feels manageable.
Grief Support
Tools and presence for when the world keeps moving while you feel still.
Support for those living with loss, recent or long-held, in all the ways it shows up.

Caregiving & Transitions
Compassionate support during life changes that don’t come with instructions.
Steady support for those caring for others or moving through major life transitions and anticipatory grief.
My Approach
My approach is grounded in presence, honesty, and care. I believe support should feel steady and human, not rushed or prescriptive.
I work alongside people as they navigate grief, caregiving, and end-of-life planning, offering space to talk, reflect, and make sense of what matters most at a pace that feels right for them.

Supportive Tools
Supportive tools are gentle, practical resources designed to offer steadiness and reassurance during difficult moments. These tools are not meant to fix grief or rush understanding, but to provide grounding, reflection, and support when you need something to lean on.
You’re welcome to explore at your own pace; there’s no right way to begin.
